Volcanos & Agatha

What a last few days. Phew. On Thursday the Pacaya Volcano started to show us what it's all about and covered Guatemala City in Ash, killing one reporter with several children still missing. 1000's are in shelters.. The Saturday morning we were greeted with a little surprise of Agatha, a tropical storm, which is excepted to bring 30 inches of rain to some areas.. Pray... the risk of landslides is great.. rivers flooding.. it's not like a rain storm in the states where you can be sure your home will stand firm, the majority of people don't have that confidence, as they live in very poorly build homes, stacked onto muddy hillsides.. Father turn this nation to you..

oh how HE loves us :)

As the seasons of life change.. none better than the other, some more difficult, but in all seasons God is teaching us. Showing us HIS plan and HIS desires for our moments. So that none are wasted, but all used to HIS glory and honor. I have been surrendering my heart more and more to my LORD, my desire is that is it HE I receive all things from. That I never put a human in that place. That it is HIM I need. And as this has been my prayer for my life recently and especially last night. This morning when I got to the center and the one of the staff arrived she had a rose for me, and in that moment I knew that it was straight from my Daddy in heaven. To receive directly from HIS hand is such a beautiful thing. HE is there, arms wide open.. Lets let him be our comfort, be the wind in our sails.. JESUS.

cleaning...

Today is going to include lots of cleaning. We are doing our spring cleaning before Holy Week break so we can have all of next week off! :)

Yesterday was another hectic day, our nanny has to leave at 3 all this week, leaving me in charge of the babies in the afternoon, along with helping clean, getting the afternoon snack served etc. We do have 3 volunteers that are coming once a week, so that's fantastic. Our enrollment is going to be increasing by 10 and God is blessing us with more volunteers and continues to meet each and every need of these children! One of the girls wants to bring a cake monthly for the birthdays of that month, such a blessing! speaking of cleaning, it's not getting done with me on here :)

I lift my eyes UP

What a day. I feel like most of my time yesterday was consumed with thinking.. sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing. The buses in the city are not operating because the government gave the city buses a HUGE amount of money, so those from out of the city are demanding the same thing, therefore all schools and daycare's were closed. We were open, but the children left at 3 as our Nanny could not make it in, and we have to think about how the staff is going to get home as well. Our desire is for everyone to get home safe n sound at the end of the day. For the rest of the week I'll take over baby duty at 3 so our 3 staff members that don't live within close walking distance can get a ride.

I have a new idea on the brain, one to rent a house, make it cute, eventually live there and also rent it out nightly to those who come down from the states (this would help pay the rent) and i'd have my own space. Where I live now has been fantastic, but eventually I gotta spread my wings and fly. Cannot live with them forever, it has been almost one year, which is crazy, has flown by! I will forever be blessed beyond measure by the Cardona family! They are a God send! So praying about these Changes. I life my eyes to the hills-Where does my help come from, my help comes from the LORD the maker of heaven and earth Psalm 121:1-2

This is the Day that the LORD hath made

For a couple weeks now i've been dreaming of this day. A day to stay home, do my laundry, nap, watch a movie etc etc. it finally happened and you know about about 5 hours ago I got so bored and sick of myself. sigh, we always think we know what we want. One thing I do know tho, is that
GOD is good alll the time, and he knows exactly what we need/want. Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, Rejoice. Phil 4:4

Instead of trying to be all fancy with this blog, I think just being practical will actually encourage me to post. If daily I tell the happenings of that day, well that's do-able. Might be boring, and make those reading fall asleep, but do-able is a good thing.

I washed my bedding today, I have had some sort of bug biting me pretty much since my return here, nasty. On my legs and mid section so I'm hoping this will help, also vacuumed the bed. Truly I think the problem is the bugs the lil buggers at the daycare bring with them, maybe just one of the perks.. but isn't it a little nasty? to know something is biting you and to not quite care enough to do something about it! Is this what I've become? So that was the highlight. Then I had to get creative with eating, as I have no food in the house. So some granola with silk it was.. didn't quite hit the spot, but I appreciate times where my food is limited, makes me feel a little closer to those I serve, who never have a choice.. and wow the choices I have. I would have liked to think that moving here I'd loose my attachment to clothing and "stuff" I dunno tho. Feeling like a lost cause. I did go thru my shirts to give away some of those, trying to convince myself if I haven't worn it since being here, I probably won't. Reminds me of how God gently takes things, or changes things in our lives, if we aren't using it for HIS glory now, we probably won't. So much stuff to weed thru :) it's raining, cooling down the humid day, such a special treat. catch ya later
